Get ready to be part of something out of this galaxy at the Merchants Of Third Ave Civic Improvement Assoc Inc's next fundraising event PIZZA WARS. It's an event like no other, and we want you to be there! Get ready to eat and vote for your favorite slice🍕 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn all while walking and touring our beautiful neighborhood dressed in your Star Wars Best all while supporting merchants in the 86th Street BID, the 5th Avenue BID and the Merchants of 3rd Avenue.
How it works ⬇️
🍕There will be 12 participating pizzerias in Bay Ridge. As of 4/2 there are 9 confirmed.
(Pizzerias are subject to change at any time)
🔹Vesuvio Restaurant and Pizzeria
🍕We are asking every pizzeria to make an 18 or 16 inch plain pie and cut it into 10ths or 12ths (You will not receive a full slice, we are paying each pizzeria for your smaller slice to help pay for the 100s of guests we‘re expecting.)
🍕There will be staggered start times to accommodate 100s of attendees.
🍕At Check-In you will receive a branded PIZZA WARS tote bag🛍️ , a pizza map, a pizza cheat sheet to keep notes and a voting card to be handed in at Firefly.
🍕We will start at Elegante Pizzeria on Ovington and 5th avenue, we will proceed along 5th to Pizza Wagon on 85th St and then go down to 3rd avenue to Nonno’s and proceed to our last stop on 3rd which is Firefly on Ovington and 3rd. (Ovington is 70st St)
🍕We will gather at Firefly after to hand in voting cards, listen to music and enjoy some drink specials and themed cocktails that will be available for purchase. As soon as all votes are the winners will be announced.
🚐 A shuttle bus will be looping the neighborhood incase you need a break, just show your ticket and hop on. Thank you Bay Ridge Center!
Rules and Regulations for those participating in our Star Wars Best Costume Contest!
🏆A team of committee members from the ragamuffin committee will vote for the best costume and best family costume.
Best individual costume will win one FREE pie from each of our participating pizzerias.
🏆Best group costume winner will win $150 from the Ragamuffin Parade. Group must consist of at least 3 humans (no pets), homemade costumes preferred but not necessary.
🏆Votes will be tallied and a Pizza Wars Trophy will be given out to the nest voted slice!
We are looking at this day as an opportunity for you to get to know Bay Ridge and to make new friends who love 🍕pizza and Star Wars just as much as you do!

Hosted by The Merchants of Third Avenue
This beloved Bay Ridge tradition provides a full day of food and drink, rides, games, shopping and live entertainment for families and visitors “on the avenue” each year. Presented by the Merchants of Third Avenue Civic Improvement Association, Inc. in partnership with Councilmember Justin Brannan, the event is once again being organized by longtime Festival Chairman Chip Cafiero.

Judging 11:30 am-12:30 pm

Corner of 76th Street Between 3rd& 4th Avenue & 76th Street Between 3rd& Ridge Blvd.
Note: School assembly locations & line up will be available Parade Day at the Registration area, on posters at 76th Street, as well as with the Parade Marshals.
Parade Route / Prize Distribution
Parade starts at 1 PM on the corner of 76th Street & 3rd Avenue, it will continue down 3rd Ave past the Ragamuffin Main Stage on corner of 90th & 3rd and finish at the HSBC Parking Lot on 92nd & 3rd Avenue
Children should also be accompanied by an adult along the parade route. Each child that is registered & marches the whole route of the parade in costume will receive a gift.
